MTD Client Enablement for Accountancy Practices

Sole practitioners & firms without dedicated IT support, who have clients that: • struggle with digital records or software • are moving from paper or spreadsheets for MTD • feel anxious, resistant, or lack confidence • generate repeated IT-related queries Most firms use this service for a small number of “problem” clients, not their entire client base.

I work 1-to-1 with your clients to remove the IT and confidence barrier that can sit between good advice and effective MTD compliance. This includes: • setting up MTD-compatible software • helping clients transition from paper or spreadsheets • connecting bank feeds and explaining transaction flow • showing clients how to enter data, review figures, and submit quarterly updates • explaining software in clear, plain English • providing calm reassurance for non-digital or anxious clients Support is provided remotely as standard, with home/business visits available if appropriate.

To protect your role and the client relationship, I do not: • give tax advice or make judgement calls • decide what is allowable or deductible • review, reconcile, or correct accounts • replace bookkeeping or accounting services • submit returns, deal with HMRC, or manage compliance Judgement-based questions are always referred back to you.

Clean handover – clients return to you able to maintain effective records, follow your advice, and requiring minimal ongoing support You remain the adviser. I make sure the software doesn’t get in the way.

All support is delivered personally - never outsourced or group-based. 1-to-1 support gives clients personalised guidance at their own pace, addressing their exact questions and barriers in real time. This builds confidence quickly and prevents small software issues from consuming hours of staff time. Remote support via telephone & screen-sharing is effective for most clients, available nationwide in the UK. Where appropriate, I can visit clients at home or at their business premises, often the quickest way to build confidence with clients that are highly resistant to digital change. Site visits are currently available to clients located in East Devon, West Dorset & Southern Somerset.
